Apropos

Fools, said I, you do not know Silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you.
Take my arms that I might reach you.
But my words like silent raindrops fell and echoed in the wells of silence

-J

What do these words mean to you?

Very nice poetry. Extremely thought provoking - as to why poets feel the need to complicate a message by using flowerly language - but that is the essense of poetry. A simple man might rephrase the poem as: "If you don't talk back to someone, they might as well not be talking!"
Good stuff John!

Hey! Thanks for the comment Emeriol- it is good to hear from you. The "poem" is a verse from Simon & Garfunkle's "the Sound of Silence". I like your thoughts as I did not think of that aspect. I hope you are well!
